Role: Café Manager
Contract type: Permanent Hours: 41 hours per week
Reporting to: The Head of Operations
Responsible for: All café staff at the Koi Café including all kitchen staff.

The Koi Café is a vital part of the Perfect Aquatics Group and shares its mission and values. The Koi Café will demonstrate its commitment to sustainability by offering a varying menu including promotional events and an ethos that will support events for Perfect Aquatics and Bermuda Falls.
Summary
The main duties and responsibilities are for the overall smooth running of The Koi Café. Working closely with the café team and senior management to grow The Koi Café into a thriving, vibrant and profitable enterprise within The Koi Café Mission, Values and Objectives founded on an agreed business plan. In particular to ensure on-going excellence in a welcoming and ‘feel good' vibe of the Café, customer care, signposting to other PA/BF activities and the meeting of financial targets, key performance indicators and H&S.
Front of House and Customer Care
To oversee all front of house operations and ensure the guests experience is of the highest possible quality.
To actively seek and record guest feedback on a regular basis by all staff and ensure all customer requests and feedback are responded to promptly.
Ensure that all areas of The Café (inside and outside) are always in a highly presentable and functioning state.
To develop the Café Handbook (Yet to be created) in conjunction with the senior management, to cover all day to day policies, procedures and systems that meet both statutory requirements and ensure the continuous improvement of the effective running of the Café.
To develop and work with the chefs to develop a fully costed menu and offer and service style aligned with the Koi Café ethos and policies.
To work shifts in the kitchen as necessary.
To work with and support the chef as necessary planning menus.
To be responsible for developing and organising the smooth and profitable running of Koi Café functionality including evening events, organising appropriate staff, without compromising the Koi Café values and supporting staff wellbeing. This includes liaising and negotiating with customers ensuring excellent outcomes for all.
To organise staff rotas, with good forward planning for larger/evening events, and ensure there is a clear handover during shift changes with suitable briefings and reviews when evening sessions commence.
To develop and implement a staff training plan that incorporates induction and continuing development for all Café roles, ensuring all staff are able to understand and communicate The Koi Café wider vision, values and activities with knowledge and enthusiasm to all customers.
To undertake Café staff appraisals on at least an annual basis.
To recruit Café staff including chefs in line with policies and ensure all staff complete accurate admin forms at start of employment, time sheets, holiday sheets and an exit interview.
To develop and lead a motivated and high-performing team, committed to delivering The Café Business Plan and provide regular feedback on overall performance.
To manage all disciplinary and grievance issues in line with The Koi Café policy.
To ensure the monthly Café meetings take place with key members of management and the Koi Café team, to aid communication and ensure that all are fully briefed and action points are recorded and achieved.
To ensure effective purchasing of ingredients and supplies in line with expectancy in delivering a full menu daily.
To meet agreed weekly sales/income targets and to manage expenditure in line with the agreed budget.
To manage regular monthly stock takes.
To develop an agreed business plan for The Café with senior management and monitor its fulfilment using KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) and reporting up to senior management.
In conjunction with the wider team, develop and implement a rolling marketing plan for The Café that includes targeted promotions for The Café food and also for all events, activities and promotional offers.
To actively promote Koi Café events and promotional offers.
To manage social media posts and displays within the Koi Café.
To maintain and further enhance relationships within The Koi Café community, surrounding village residents, and local businesses.
To be responsible for all Health and Safety & Environmental Health requirements for the Café, use and maintenance of equipment, staff safety and customer safety, inside and out, ensuring the café is clean and well organised.
To support our chef and cooks helping out with cooking as required.
3rd party delivery systems (just eat) are monitored, serviced, actioned and delivered within the required timeframe.
With the wider Koi Café team, take on delivery, check delivery items and ensure any shortfalls are raised and reported to the accounts department for accurate invoicing.
Cashing tills up daily in line with company policy.
Here at the koi café we are looking for a chef to join our brilliant team. To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who has previous experience as a Cook/Chef in a busy, energetic establishment. You should thrive under pressure and be passionate about delivering consistently great food to customers.

We are looking for a positive and outgoing Till Assistant who will be the first contact for customers entering our store.
This role includes working on the checkouts to process customer transactions, unpacking orders and working as a team to keep the shop in a presentable and tidy manner.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Confident in using till systems and a barcode scanner
- Has an excellent work ethic
- Great with customers and aware of their needs, whilst being polite and friendly
- Ability to use there initiative
- Good time management
- Ability to work well in a busy environment
- Able to work in a high volume, sometimes physically challenging role
Full training will be provided to the successful applicant

Working hours for the business are Monday - Saturday 8:30 - 17:30 and Sunday 10:30 - 17:00
