Small Aquarium Delivery's

Hello everybody!

We hope you all had a wonderful festive period and enjoyed spending time with your loved one's (and your fish of course).

We wanted to provide you all with an update on our small aquarium deliveries.
Unfortunately in December, we had to suspend all deliveries on small aquariums due to extreme pressure on the couriers during the festive period and aquariums arriving with customers damaged. During this period we could not guarantee that aquariums would arrive in perfect condition and we could not continue to take that risk.

At Perfect Aquatics our mantra is to continue to test, learn and make changes to excel in what we do and be the industry leaders in our field. We have looked at how we can improve our aquarium deliveries and we will be making small changes to make this process better. While these changes are implemented, we will continue to offer our Click and Collect service for small aquariums but we will not be offering delivery. Our large aquariums and other aquariums which can be sent direct from manufacturer are unaffected.

This years selection for our annual grow out event is the outstanding NND (Nishikigoi Niigata Direct) DK Shiro Utsuri. These Koi come from an Omosako bloodline (The best breeder of this variety) and the female used now boasts a huge 95cm+ size. This means that all of these offspring have potential to get big. BUT, be warned selection of these young Koi is not difficult. Why? Because the development on this variety is staggering. Understanding that the pattern needs to be last on your list, although there will be clues sat under the shiroji (white skin) there will be so much more happen with the Sumi which is development that you cannot predict.

When selecting be sure to clock the body frame, the skin condition and be prepared to take a risk. The best fish will not necessarily be selected first.

This event will run for 1 year. Entries will be expected to send a 30sec video and picture next to a measuring device so we can see the growth that has been achieved by the Koi. However if you would rather concentrate on quality, we have a competition for this as well.

All competitors will be entered into the following catergories;

1. Best Growth - Heated Pond

2. Best Growth - Non Heated Pond

and there are two competitions for quality;

1. Best Quality Japan - Judged by Oomo Fujio (NND Breeder).

2. Best Quality Britain - Allan Tait - Chair of JSC - Head BKKS (British Koi Keepers Society) Judge.

Oomo Fujio San has agreed to judge this competition which is an honour. NND are one of my favourite breeders in Japan and will always hold a special place because one of there Koi was one of my first expensive high quality fish that I purchased. They need more exposure in the UK and I am proud to bring a selection of there Koi back to the UK (Krafty Koi - Anthony Day)
